Rodolfo Peraza is a Cuban-born, U.S.-based artist whose work centers on technology and its relationship to public space, both virtual and physical. His practice focuses on extended reality (XR) and data visualization. In 2017, he founded the MUD Foundation Inc. in Miami, an organization dedicated to supporting tech-centered arts programs and reducing barriers to access to immersive technology in the arts and education.
Peraza’s work has been widely exhibited, including presentations at SIGGRAPH in Los Angeles and the Pérez Art Museum Miami. His art is held in the permanent collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) in Canada and the JUMEX Collection in Mexico. He was the recipient of the Cannonball WaveMaker Grant and the Knight Arts + Tech Fellowship in 2021.

Yoan Escobar brings over a decade of experience in software engineering, with a diverse background that includes interactive application development in VR/AR, machine learning, computer vision, web technologies, and system integration. Throughout his career, he has led and mentored cross-functional teams while continuously learning alongside them. He believes that strong teams grow through collaboration, active communication, knowledge sharing, and continuous self-improvement.

Betzabet Consuegra, MUD Foundation Music After School Program Director, is an accomplished music professional with extensive experience in teaching and conducting. Transforming innovator with a proven track record in streamlining solutions for complex engineering challenges. As Principal Software Developer at Microsoft’s Mixed Reality team, I build best-in-class data observability solutions spanning hardware to user experience. Previous roles include leading telemetry and business intelligence systems at Magic Leap, developing Spatial Computing solutions in education, and pioneering mobile technology test systems at Motorola. My career also includes hands-on work at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center on the International Space Station and the Mission to Mars prototype.
A passionate community leader, I serve as a board director for the MUD Foundation, driving education initiatives to enhance diverse student outcomes in STEAM. Skilled in software, hardware, and cloud integrations, I bring expertise in Unity, C#, Python, mobile devices, and global supply chain engineering. Fluent in cross-cultural collaboration, I leverage my curiosity and technical insight to design, advocate for, and implement impactful innovations.
What Students Will Do
XRCamp provides structured, hands-on workshops that introduce youth to creative digital production using accessible tools. Activities include:
01 | 3D Modeling
Students learn to build and shape 3D objects and environments using beginner-friendly tools. They explore form, proportion, and how digital models become part of XR spaces.
02 | Basic Coding
Participants are introduced to JavaScript essentials that help them add behaviors, movement, and interactivity to their projects.
03 | XR Environments
Participants are introduced to JavaScript essentials that help them add behaviors, movement, and interactivity to their projects.
04 | Spatial Sound
Youth experiment with sound in virtual spaces, learning how audio placement affects mood and user experience.
05 | Visualization & Virtual Exhibits
Participants explore digital twins, online museum spaces, and ways artists present work on the internet.
06 | Digital Art & Internet Culture
The curriculum introduces youth to key ideas in media art history and the evolution of digital culture to help them understand the artistic and social context of the tools they use.
