ATTENDANT ENGAGEMENTS No. 1
A DMINTI community based digital art group show With support from ICA Miami, Miami Design District, Florida International University and MUD Foundation Inc.
ATTENDANT ENGAGEMENTS No. 1
In conjunction with The Kaleidoscope (...BIGGER) House, DMINTI led two community engagement initiatives that culminated in the creation of new digital artworks produced in dialogue with Laurie Simmons’ artistic practice. The first initiative was developed in partnership with the Tezos Foundation and centered on leading artists minting work on the Tezos blockchain. The second was structured as an internship program with undergraduate and graduate students from the Art and Art History Departments at Florida International University, offering hands-on experience in digital media, curation, and critical discourse. These initiatives formed the foundation for the works featured in ATTENDANT ENGAGEMENTS.
DMINTI x Tezos Foundation Curation- Notions of Home As part of DMINTI’s community engagement efforts surrounding The Kaleidoscope (...BIGGER) House, five digital artists were initially commissioned in partnership with the Tezos Foundation to create new works in dialogue with the themes explored by Laurie Simmons and Peter M. Wheelwright. These works—now revisited as part of the ATTENDANT ENGAGEMENTS No. 1 exhibition—extend Simmons’ explorations of domesticity, identity, gender, and architecture into a digital and speculative realm.
